Scalamandre Fabric presents the latest textile showcase: the Calabria Collection. This collection is filled with a wide array of luxurious textile fabrics inspired by rich Italian heritage. The original company founder Franco Scalamandre came from Calabria, a region of Italy located in the southern reaches. It is still well known for its rich in history and ancient settlements of castles and monasteries, as well as it’s lush landscape. Celebrating Scalamandre Fabric’s 90th anniversary, the collection directly derives from Franco’s past and his homeland borrowing from the area’s history of original design and natural beauty.
The entire collection is selection of curated wovens and classic statement prints celebrating the spirit of the brand in modern updated color schemes. These classic archival patterns and classic textile techniques are redesigned for today’s standard of modern interiors. The luxurious and couture inspired color schemes give reimagined life to the classic techniques of weaving they were originally produced in.

Alma Silhouette Print
The Alma Silhouette print is a monotonal ink print rendition of beautiful Tuscan florals and their winding vines. Available in three rustic colorways to suite any palette used within your design project.
Antonella Lampas uses spirited large scale florals in gorgeous vertical arrangements to paint the picture of the Calabrian rolling hills and the rich foliage that encompasses it’s plains. Available in a warm and cheery blood range and raspberry colorway noted as ‘blossom’, into two cooler palettes ‘grey garden’ and ‘morning glory’.
Tesoro Printed Velvet
Featuring a distressed style off white print on top of calming neutrals and dark navy, the Tesoro Printed Velvet adds texture and a dynamic aspect to any furniture its used on for upholstery. As pictured above, the printed aspect of this velvet really creates a unique look that has a sophisticated rustic vibe.
Subtle contrasting colors in gentle sea side inspired pallets truly makes the Camille Damask unique. As pictured above on the curtains, the Camille damask adds layers of style to any setting with its understated beauty.
The Strada stripe, pictured above in ‘mineral’ upholstered on the bench is a classic rendition of a traditional stripe. Available in the updated Scalamandre color pallet, these linear vertical stripes are a great addition for mixing and matching with the printed statement fabrics.
Peonia Printed Linen
This large scale grand floral features peony blossoms and their highly textured and pointed leaves, creating excellent geometric shape and detail. Available in a deep and beautiful emerald with rose white blossoms, or the more luxurious onyx backdrop with the golden tinted blooms. If you’re into a very classic and traditional pallet, the sunlight colorway is a soft pale gold with bright yellow and red blossoms.
Diamante Matelassé is an embroidery detailed pattern imitating the structure of woven textiles in a large scale. In between each woven detail is smaller geometric details to create a brilliant texture.
Solid pattern made of cotton in a wide variety of colors with a horizontal heather texture.

Our story begins in 1987 when founder and designer Frank Keshishian launched L.A. Design Concepts a residential interior design firm.
While Mr. Keshishian designed homes for his clients, he recognized a fast growing market of consumers who preferred to make their own design decisions. Understanding that desire, Frank created the first design service offering consumer access to designer "trade only" furnishings.
In 1988, L.A. Design Concepts was nationally recognized as a groundbreaking company revolutionizing consumer access. The Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles was very intrigued with L. A. Design Concepts working model and approached Frank in 1990 to formulate a consumer service program within their design center. L.A. Design Concepts was now the first service within a design center providing consumer access to “trade only? furnishings. Shortly thereafter, an increasing number of interior designers and architects recognized the value of streamlining their access through one single source. Our service allowed designers to focus on designing for their clients without having to maintain accounts with each individual manufacturer.
