Clarence House WallpaperTo those in the decorative fabric industry, the name Clarence House wallpaper is synonymous with quality, artistry and design integrity. Founded in 1961 by designer Robin Roberts, the goal was to provide the highest quality fabric to those in the interior design industry, including decorators, designers and architects. To achieve this very lofty goal, all fabric was initially imported from European mills. However, as demand grew for these exquisite fabrics, it became necessary to create an in-house design studio that allowed Clarence House to have control over every aspect of the business, including the design process. Under the expert guidance of Art director Kazumi Yoshida the company has become the go-to source for not only high quality decorative fabric and wallpaper but also for reproduction designs for museums and historic homes and has held a Royal Warrant for several decades. Head-quartered in New York City, they have showrooms throughout the world and sell their products to “trade only” design professionals. A natural progression for the company was to transfer their iconic fabric designs into a wallpaper collection that met the same exacting standards the company demanded in their fabric line of damasks, silks, leathers, velvet and hand-loomed brocades. Roberts felt that the market of textile fabrics and wallpaper had a void, there was a missing factor of quality within designs produced by other manufacturers. It was in the original planning for the company that fabrics were to be imported from Europe that had never been seen by the eyes of any customers or clientele within America. Through this ideology the company required themselves to be completely hands on and involved for every part of the complex and well planned creative design process, this began the creation of their entire own studio for creating new design and the collaboration and in-house director of art Kazumi Yoshida. Utilizing their entirely vast network full of mills locatd within Europe and archives full of rich textiles, the control of the evolution within all design elements is held strongly from the beginning concept continuing on to the final end product. Clarence house wallpaper collections feature the same historic patterns and designs found in the extensive fabric collection, and have been translated into hand-screen printed wallpaper of the highest quality. This makes it possible for an entire room to feature an overall pattern that appears in the upholstery, drapery, bedding and wallpaper, with many designs pulled from an extensive archive of historical documents. Clarence house also partners with many famous designers including Nancy Corzine, Oscar de la Renta, Jan Showers, Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, Kelly Wearstler and Candice Olson. These designers bring their own identifiable look to individual wallpaper collections, making it possible to find a wallpaper color, pattern or texture to fit any design aesthetic. Wallpaper options range from a wonderfully textural sisal to an exotic Tibetan pattern to a cool and inviting fern pattern reminiscent of life in the Keys. Classic stripes and geometric patterns are available in every colorway imaginable. The company offers varying styles with in the abstract range of patterns, all the way into many varying degrees of traditional patterns keeping their selection one of the freshest and constantly evolving. Through out the many years, the brand has provided supply of fabrics for furnishings and even museums. It is impressive the countless historic houses that have been provided designs from the creative directors. The amount of features in notable and important architectural and design magazines showcases their notoriety. They have become famous for hand screen printing of wallpaper and fabrics, highly detailed and stylized textures, their collection of velvets is that many other companies strive to acquire. The quality continues through their collection of silks, linens, trimmings, cottons, and even leather. The company is noted for their strong and distinguishable florals wall covering styles that are highly valued by interior designers across the entire United States of America as well as globally reaching many other countries. The design company\'s use of vibrant and expressive colors is another example of their diversity in rich designs that have pulled the interest of clients for centuries.
