Kravet began in the early 1900s as a small fabric house opened by Samuel Kravet, a Russian immigrant living in New York City's weaving community. Over the years the business has been passed down, generation to generation. In 2012, Sara Kravet, the first member of the fifth generation of Kravets joined the company. During this period of just over 100 years Kravet acquired various design companies, broadening their diverse selection and becoming a world leader in textiles, wallcoverings and interior design.

Today Kravet includes well known designer brands like Lee Jofa, Brunchwig and Fils, Curated Kravet, Mulberry Home, GP & J Baker, Gaston y Daniela, Winfield Thybony and more.
